With a professional background in student organizing, youth development, and public policy research and personal involvement in youth development programs like Summer Search, Bottomline, and SquashBusters, Inc. she also developed a passion for helping innovative, but often under-resourced, nonprofits thrive.

Monete believes in constantly challenging the status quo in education. Educational institutions should to continuously grow to meet the needs of all student. For students in groups that have been historically marginalized, youth development organizations and student groups are excellent tools to provide additional services and create strong communities where traditional schooling lags.
